DEADLINE: January
19, 2018
LATE Deadline: January 2
4, 2018

  • Who – Students K – 12 and parent(s)

  • Cost $20.00 / family (Late fee - $25 / family) - Each family receives a curriculum manual.
It is recommended to bring a notebook to make notes in.

  • Q & A – The last half hour is reserved for question and answer time and wrapping
    things up.

  • Learn by doingNow the whole family can catch the vision!  This workshop enables
parents to know how to coach their students and gives students the opportunity to walk
through the steps of how to put a project together.  Each session begins with a time of
training and direction, which is then applied during our Breakout Sessions.  As part of
the registration, each family receives a curriculum packet that contains the information
being presented.  The format is cooperative brain storming.  Students are set up with
their parents in grade groups for coming up with ideas to achieve the goals for each
Breakout.  The group setting helps spark imaginations and networking; however, each
student will pursue their own scientific interests.  Supplies are on hand to apply what is
being discovered and learned, so students go home with something tangible to work
with on their own projects.  There will even be past students’ display boards set up to
get ideas for their own display.

  • High schoolers – Your group is challenged to work with limited input from adults, so
come prepared to interact and bring your unique perspective!

  • If 2 parents come from the same family, it is beneficial to put one parent in another
group to give that family more ideas and experience to take home.  We also prefer
parents of high schoolers to be with other groups to allow their high schooler to rise up
and get involved!  The registration form is set up for your input on this.  Your
confirmation will also verify the arrangement.
